CLUB FOR KIDS

Girls between ages 7 to 12 meet weekly for supervised and coordinated fun indoor and outdoor activities that build help them make great friends, build their self-confidence, acquire life skills, and develop virtues.

FOR TEENS AND YOUNG WOMEN

Mentorship Programme for teens​

Students from forms 1 - 6 receive weekly guidance from a trained Shalimar mentor

  • Study and exam techniques

  • Special assistance with problem subjects

  • Encouraging right attitudes about learning

  • Career guidance and professional development

  • Fostering desire for higher education

Character Building Programme​

​Youths receive mentorship focusing on:

  • Development of will power, identification of values and virtues worth practicing

  • Character of self-knowledge & growth

  • Dealing with peer pressure

  • Conflict management at home & school

  • Decision-making and critical thinking

  • Family orientation

Rural Youth Character Programme​​

Offers rural youth the opportunity to benefit from mentorship and character

building workshops during the vacation periods.

Mentors Training Programme​​

University students and young professionals receive ongoing training to better fulfill their

roles as mentors and role models to youths through:

  • Weekly lectures on moral, ethical and personality development issues

  • Forthnighthly consultation with Project Coordinators on the progress of their student

  • Additional activities - Seminars, film reviews, reunions - reinforce the university students' human, cultural, and social skills.

Teen Leadership Programme​

Students are equipped with the skills and values to become leaders in their schools, families and communities.  Through various workshops and seminars students are taught how they

can effectively be champions of good character.

Life Coaching - Girls

Biweekly coaching sessions are held on a one-on-one basis with girls and young professionals to assist them to chart weekly goals to improve interpersonal relationships and build positive attitudes to work and social responsibilities.

​

Character Building Seminars Girls

Monthly seminars are held on character development with teens and pre-teens to strengthen their ability to think critically and develop emotional intelligence skills to deal with life’s many challenges. 

​

Character Dev Programme- Teens

Character development for teenagers through the use of interactive sessions. Participants study other cultures to develop empathy for others, learn life skills including communication and dealing with peer pressure and build lifelong friendships

​

Monthly Personal Development Mini Conference - Girls

Large group sessions are held in person, and online, where pre-teens and teenagers take time out for inner reflection, recharge batteries to renew focus on personal goals and development.  

​

Community Outreach - Big - Little Sister Mentorship Programme - Weekly Sessions

Young women at secondary schools mentor girls at primary schools  in various communities. Sessions are highly interactive and fun-filled. Primary school girls from various levels of society meet exemplary role models to guide them in life’s twists and turns. They form long-lasting friendships and are guided to become the best they can be and achieve their fullest potentials. Mentees can go on to become Mentors for others.

Mentor Preparation And Training

Training sessions are held for the mentors selected for the Community Outreach programmes.

Individual Mentor Coaching - Life Skills Development

Specialized skills development coaching is carried out for the Team Leaders of the Mentorship programme

Young Women's Identity and Relationships Programme

Programme to build and strengthen the personal identity of young women as topics are unpacked, explored and defined and forming positive and healthy relationships are reinforced.

Character Building Seminar- Module 1

Monthly seminars are held on character development with mature women to strengthen their ability to think critically and develop emotional intelligence skills to deal with life’s many challenges

Monthly seminars are held on character development with young professional women to strengthen their ability to think critically and develop emotional intelligence skills to deal with life’s many challenges

Life Coaching - Women

Biweekly coaching sessions are held on a one-on-one basis with married and single women to assist them in achieving their fullest potential and maximizing their abilities and skills sets for improved performance in the workplace and at home

​

Women's Family Support Programme

Young married women meet to share ideas, concerns and fears, gaining mutual support from each other. Readings are selected as the theme for discussions on some specific topic. These married women are thus equipped with knowledge they can in turn impart to and assist others.

Monthly Personal Development Mini Conference - Ladies

Large group sessions are held in person, in a peaceful environment, and online for those unable to attend in person, where women get timeout for inner reflection and focus on their lives and personal growth.

Family Enrichment Consultants

Ongoing Personal Development- PROED Facilitators

Continuous personal development and support sessions are held weekly with married and single women which reinforce individual goal-setting, leadership, self-knowledge and an emphasis on building life skills. These ladies form the core of a seed programme to impact a wider cross section of society.

​

Film Discussion Forums

Monthly get togethers are held to review a film of interest to women. Participants are drawn from all walks of life. Open discussions are carried out among participants with a guided moderator to enhance the critical thinking ability of women.

​

Personal Development Modules

Small group get togethers are held to deep dive into current topics of interest to women.

​

Group Peer Support Sessions

Small group peer sessions held weekly where participants share personal joys, experiences, sorrows, future goals and plans and support each other through these issues

​

5 Rural Outreach Programmes

 Planned visits to rural communities by university and secondary school students who carry out projects, working jointly with parents, teachers and the young people in the schools in the rural communities. The type of project can vary from repainting and repair to technology skills development.

​

Introduction to Philosophy and Theology course

Formal courses to build wisdom, understanding and knowledge as a foundation for joy-filled living are imparted to participants.
